Foundations || Full coverage and long wearing

How is everyone?!  I know I’ve been forgetting to post lately but I’ve been focusing on Youtube (elanna pecherle) a lot but I’m going to try to post once a week on here until I sort out my schedule. I’m going to focus on a lot more reviews on new products so that you guys can see if you want to purchase and give it a go. What are you guys wanting to see more of? Comment and let me know 🙂

Today I’m focusing on my 3 favourite foundations that are FULL coverage and long wearing. They all are absolutely fantastic but I love them for different reasons. Hopefully this is helpful for you guys and especially because we are coming into warmer weather and we want our foundation to last as long as possible.

Maybelline FIT ME Matte and Poreless Foundation

Price: $8.00 – $10.00

Where to buy: Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal-Mart and Rexall

This foundation is a winner in my eyes for a drugstore foundation. It’s rich formula blends out flawlessly on the skin leaving no streaks. What I love best about this foundation is that you don’t need to wear a primer with it. It smooths out the skins texture and leaves a flawless finish. The colour range is great and it lasts a long time on the skin. For even longer wear try the FIT ME powder to set with. The combo of both products is heavenly if you have oily skin.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Price: $40.00 – $44.00

Where to buy: Select Shoppers Drug Mart, The Bay and Sephora

This is my all time fave foundation. On days where I know it’s going to be long and filled with little mirror time (touch ups) I know I can count on this foundation to keep it together for me. The foundation is thick but I always use it with a beauty blender and it’s the perfect consistency. A little goes a long way with this stuff but I promise you that you’ll fall in love. It isn’t too drying but doesn’t make you look too “glowy”.

NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation

Price: $50.00 – $57.00

Where to Buy: The Bay, Sephora and Holt Renfrew

Yes, this foundation is way too expensive but you use the SMALLEST amount and it’s a beautiful finish. If you have oily skin, this will be your saving grace. It’s a super watery consistency and one pump can give a natural finish, two pumps is heavenly. I know I’ll be loving this stuff in the summer when my skin is over its dry patch stage (clings to any dry skin so exfoliate).

Valentine’s Day || For all the single ladies

Ok single ladies, this post is FOR YOU! Not all of us may have a significant other to spend this LOVEly day with, but don’t fret, I got you covered. Here are some ways you can treat yourself, and dress if you want to be laid back or have a day to pamper yourself!

Comfortable and casual. Great for a day of shopping, grabbing lunch with your girls or just spending way too much money at Sephora.

HAVE A NIGHT IN. Put on your pjs and chillllllllll out. Make some popcorn and enjoy a show on Netflix. I personally went through How I Met Your Mother way too quickly.

PAMPER YOURSELF! My idea of relaxation is a bath and a mandatory bath bomb from Lush. These are my favourites at the moment. (from left to right).

Avobath (Lemongrass scent, super nourishing)

Floating Flower (Probably the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen)

Space Girl ( There are sparkles. That’s all you need to know)

Blue & Beige || New Year Thankfulness

Well, 2015 is here and I seriously cannot express how excited I am and what is to come. 2014 was filled with lots of love, happiness, sadness, decisions and emotions. I cannot be more grateful for every single person who has impacted my life last year and continues to challenge me daily.

This year I am making more time for adventures, being present and really challenging myself with this blog. Well, with YouTube to be honest. I want to really focus on making videos that can really help and teach people different tips and tricks with beauty related topics. I believe I have a gift and with it I want to share it. Making some one feel beautiful is really what fuels my passion. With working in the wedding industry and teaching makeup, I see how many women are affected with their appearance and what they want to “change”. My heart is to show them the beauty they have and little ways to show confidence (through hair and makeup in my case) and to feel beautiful.

Thank you to all of you who have been nothing but kind and supportive to me through this journey and have never doubted me. I absolutely love what I do and am so thrilled for what 2015 has to offer.

As for todays post. Just a fun winter outfit that I put together (blue and beige, surprise, right?)  that I thought you may enjoy!

Stay warm, friends!

November Wear

It’s starting to get colder here in Canada and Christmas is less than 50 days away, can you believe it?! The Holidays are my favourite time of year, especially at Starbucks with all their yummy drinks and treats. Today’s look is a little dressy for a Friday but I still went with it! I love scarves and using them as a main accessory, such a great way to “cozy” up the outfit. All of these items are super affordable and in store still, so if you love it, grab it!

Hope you enjoyed your week and have a safe weekend.

Weekend Wear: October

Since this blog is now being focused on beauty, hair, tips, tricks and tutorials I wanted to include monthly weekend and week fashion looks. This past weekend was super chill so no dressing up here. After uploading my Fall wish list I really wanted a pair of black distressed denim jeans so I found these ones at Garage and I could honestly live in them. I highly recommend getting them in a couple sizes smaller then your regular size since they are stretchy.

What did you guys get up to this weekend?

Updated Skincare Routine

My skin has hated me these past 6 months because I was trying to replace my old skincare routine with something less chemically based. Even though my old stuff worked, I didn’t love the ingredients that I was putting on my face. After many months of fighting bad skin with trying everything that was being recommend to me, I have finally found my holy grail routine. Luxury Makeup: THREE FAVES

When it comes to luxury makeup, I’m extremely picky with deciding since I’ll be spending a pretty penny. Originally I went into Sephora knowing the exact products I wanted, and to my luck, they were sold out of both items, THE WORST. After an intense search party of maybe finding them, I left with three different products that I would of never picked out myself. One of the Cast Members (Sales Associates) helped me find some other options, and I have to say, I am quite happy with what I bought. By no means do you need to buy expensive makeup to look/feel beautiful, but for me, it’s a little splurge that I like to do once in a while.

All items can be found on

(some countries may not be able to get these)

If you follow me on this blog, or know me in person, then you know my obsession with MAC’s lipstick in Faux. Well, Ladies and Gentlemen… I have a new favourite! This is the absolute PERFECT colour. It’s a nude, pinky-mauve, a your lip but better colour. It’s creamy, glides on and really does stay on way better then Faux. It complements my skin and really is such a beautiful colour. I HIGHLY recommend this lipstick if your trying to find an everyday colour that lasts and is easy to wear. If you want a more ash-pink tone lipstick then try out Bobbi Brown “Pale Pink”.

Originally I went to Sephora because I wanted to buy Hourglass Ambient powder in Dim Light. After a sad let down of not having it, one of the girls showed me this and said that it was even better and gave a nice finish to the face. I love that it is a peach hue which really compliments me. It blurs the look of pores and is a beautiful finish to the face. I just mix all four colours together and lightly sweep it onto my face for a light soft peach glow. It keeps my makeup on longer and has the BEST smell to it. Givenchy, you may be expensive but I think that this brand is super under rated and needs to be mentioned more. Great packaging and presentation, I almost don’t want to touch it so I don’t ruin it!

I’ve been on a hunt for a new mascara so when I was told about this I was hesitant because I’ve never heard any reviews on it. After using it, everyone needs to have this. If you like full, thick black lashes then this is your baby. It has the sleekest packaging and really builds up volume and creates fake looking lashes. I love using this with a heavier eye and really layer it up so that it looks dramatic. A tip for anyone using mascara, use more then one coat to really see results. The first coat doesn’t do justice to the mascara, you need to build it up to see what it’s made out of!

Favourite Five: BLUSH

I’ve decided I’m going to start a new series called “Favourite Five” every month on my blog. I will be focusing on 1 category of makeup and my 5 favourite brands of the product. Today’s post is focusing on BLUSH. I used to hate wearing blush because I was pretty rosy as it is. With growing up, my skin has lost some colour and I feel naked without wearing blush. These five blushes below are my MUST HAVES. I seriously love all of them. I hope it helps you guys out if your looking for a new blush.

This blush is the perfect pink. It’s light, sheer and gives you a feminine glow. It is a satin blush and seriously blends into the skin like butter. I love using this blush on a bride because it brightens the face and truly makes you look like a “blushing bride”. It’s a true light pink and looks great on lots of skin types.

This is the colour I recommend to everyone if they haven’t purchased a MAC blush before. It is amazing. The darker rose hues in it are so beautiful and really give you a flush of colour. It is a matte finish but is still very easy to blend and looks great on ALL skin types. It also is very flattering on mature skin since there is no shimmer or sparkle.

IMG_2960 IMG_2969

I FREAKING LOVE THIS BLUSH. It is like a bronzer, highlighter and blush all in one. It is absolutely stunning on the skin and has a frost/sheen finish. It is my GO TO in the summer. You don’t need to use a bronzer with this since it adds darkness to your cheeks with a rosy hue.

IMG_2961 IMG_2970

Sin has been my ride or die at the moment. I’m super into mauve’s and this blush is perfection. It has purple undertones but a gold sheen to it. It is stunning on an olive skin tone but looks great on all. I have been using this every day since I got it. Also, with NARS blushes they are HIGHLY pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

IMG_2964 IMG_2972

This peachy pink blush is beautiful on people with fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. It’s brightening and has a light sheen to it. It’s a very easy blush to wear and looks awesome all year round. I love using this to blend my eyeshadows in the crease to bring the look together. Also, it’s super affordable which is a plus!

IMG_2965 IMG_2971

It’s almost that time of year again! Finally getting to the end of your four year high school experience and to celebrate, you will be going to PROM! My best friend Erica helped me out with these photos since she’s absolutely beautiful. We created THREE different looks you can wear to your prom, a formal or even a banquet. From whimsical and romantic to smoldering and sexy, hopefully these looks are helpful for you to decide what you want to rock.

This look is very “Old Hollywood” with a classic twist. Parting your hair to the side with soft waves really makes the look elegant. For makeup, a strong contour and red lip are the perfect combo.

Dress: MACY’s

This look is very innocent and whimsical. A loose/messy up-do is the way to go. If you want to add a little drama then put in a fun headband to amp it up. A soft bronze to the face and a pale pink lipstick will give you that youthful glow.

IMG_2891 IMG_2901 IMG_2888 IMG_2881

I love this look because it’s fun, glamourous and sexy. Tossled beach waves will give you that “I woke up like this” vibe. A soft smokey eye and a nude lip looks great against a bold red dress and gives you that Bridgette Bardot look.
